Sitting nearby the Yuriev Monastery, the open-air museum Vitoslavlitsy boasts a unique display of 26 original full-size wooden structures dating back to 16th through 19th centuries. Seven churches, three chapels and sixteen residential houses have been moved to this site from around the Novgorod region since 1964. The unique collection allows visitors to immerse themselves in everyday life of medieval Russia by seeing these real-size buildings in all their preserved glory. No doubt this is one of the most picturesque places in Novgorod region. Vitoslavlitsy is also home to several folk festivals, the International Bell Ringing Festival and Christmas fortune-telling.
