Jordaan District

No visit to Amsterdam is complete without visiting the Jordaan District! Once a working-class neighborhood where Dutch folk culture flourished amid narrow streets and small houses, Jordaan has now become a mecca for arts full of inviting courtyards, upscale art studios and a true photographer's dream with many picture-perfect streets and canals.
Your tour guide will take you on a quick walk through the area and you will pass by the Anne Frank House and to the Westerkerk (the Western Church) located here.

10:00 – 12:00

City Center
Continuing into the City Center you will be engrossed in many centuries of the Dutch history.

The UNESCO World Heritage Canal Belt built during the 17th century Golden Age gives Amsterdam its iconic look and invites visitors for a relaxing stroll.
At Dam Square you will marvel the magnificent Royal Palace.
Nearby is Begijnhof, a tranquil courtyard lined up with authentic Dutch houses dating back to 1528.
You will then navigate De Wallen, or the Red Light District, where your tour guide will tell you stories you won't hear anywhere else.
You'll pass by the Dutch East Indies Company Headquarters, the first multinational company to ever issue stock in early 17th century.
The Waag, the city's oldest non-religious building, sits in the New Market Square and served as a city gate in Medieval times.
You will continue your stroll through the city until you reach Museumplein or the Museum District, home to several world-renowned museums.

Return to Ship by Taxi or Stay in Museum District
Following your tour you will have a choice:

to extend your stay in the city on your own (your tour guide will provide you ample instructions on how to get back to your ship by taxi on your own), or
have your guide escort you back to the ship by taxi (so as to finish your 4-hour tour by your ship)
